Diet for crohns
- All the items below should be made with little salt and more turmeric
- Eggs
- Banana
- Butter milk
- Dahi Vada (since oil is taken out by immersing vadas in water)
- Mango Rice, Lemon Rice
- Samosa (oven made, be careful with chutney you get from store )
- Chicken noodle soup
- Paya
- Vegetable soup
- Upma (usually my mom makes it with Suji and grated carrot)
- yogurt with ridge gourd or cucumber or carrot (grated )
- Mango rasam
- All kinds of lentils except chana dal and rajma
- steamed spinach or kale (light pepper salt)
- Slow cooked chicken until tender
- Bokchoy
Habits which can help to tame Crohn’s
- Long breathing exercises at least 3 times a day
- Yoga stretches
- Cold showers at least 2 times a day
- Meditation
- Chewing food at least 40 to 60 times until it is liquid
- Timing your meal last meal should be at least 3 hours before sleep.
- Lots of filtered water (3 liters at least )
- MultiVitamins
Dealing with Abcess and Fistula
- Relax (breathing excercises help)
- Sitz bath
- Hot shower
- In order to avoid having fistula, Try to have some fiber food)
Recovery from fistula/fissures related surgery
- Lots of water
- The same diet as above except I went low on meat and bananas.
- Lots of soups and semi-solid food helps with not getting constipated. It did help me when I included vegetables
- Sitz bath (10 times)
- Hot showers (along with cold showers)
- Orange juice
- Greens and colored vegetables (in soups or curries with a little salt)
- Walking
- Take pain meds if needed
